The first day of the event went smoothly, however there were little bumps throughout the day. The author will be discussing the problems indicated throughout the first event day and what the marketing team did to improve the situation.
Entrance
Problem: There were feedbacks from family and friends stating that the entrance for the venue was a little confusing.
Action: The marketing team had posted posters and created a direction board directing to the entrance of the venue from the main door.
Ticket Sales
Problem:
The crowd from the first day of the event is lesser than expected. A total of 10 walk-in purchases have been recorded in the 1st day of the event.
Action:
On the second day of the event, some of the marketing team members went out to Publika to promote the exhibition. With this strategy, there were more walk-in people that came to purchase tickets. A total of 24 walk-in purchases have been recorded of the 2nd day of the event.
Feedback
Problem:
On day 1, one of the visitors have claimed that the ticket price is a little to high for the scope of the exhibition as there weren't much to look at. She also claimed that the food provided were a little disappointing as she expected there will be more food choices. Moreover, she further explained that there weren't anyone who showed her around in the exhibition.
Action:
A group discussion on the second day morning was held to discuss ways to overcome this issue and ways to improve the experience of the exhibition. All team members have agreed in giving a refund for the visitor who left the feedback as an apology to the bad experience she encountered. Next, the organizers have distributed 1 to 2 person to each booth to explain and show the visitors around, basically giving a tour to the visitors and educate them regarding the subcultures in Malaysia. Besides, the person in charge in bring the guest around will also introduce the visitors to the sponsor's booth to generate sales for them. The marketing team have also changed their way of greeting the visitors from "Hi" to " Hi Welcome" or " Hello Good Morning/ Afternoon / Evening". One of the organizers have further created a Google Forms for visitors who have done visiting the event to fill up and give some feedback through the form.
A total of 61 responses were recorded and these are the feedback. In general, the visitors are happy with the event on Day 2.
