Aster + Luna hopes to increase the customers’ social consciousness by educating them on the benefits of selecting organic clothing, renting instead of owning and the capability of every consumer in reducing damage towards to environment and improve the quality of their baby’s life. With that, Aster + Luna aims to have 20% of Malaysian parents to start renting babywear. With the support of customers, Aster + Luna is capable of reducing 10,000 baby clothing ending up in the landfill in 2 years. According to The Star Online, Malaysia produce 2,000 tonnes of textile waste daily (Brenda Ch’ng, 2018).
In the next 5 years, Aster + Luna aims to launch rentable maternity wear and own baby clothing line, providing a one stop shopping experience for mothers. With the increase amount of inventory, Aster + Luna aims to be effective in operational procedures and reduce operational cost by having a good inventory control system. It is important to keep track and ensure the stocks can be located easily within seconds. To reduce operational cost, Aster + Luna hopes to stop relying on third parties for operational process by owning industrial standard machineries such as laundry machines, iron, sorting machine and so on as it will be more cost effective. Aster + Luna aims to implement innovative technology such as using renewable energy, reducing water consumption and reduce CO2 emission to fulfil sustainable development goals.
In 10 years, Aster + Luca aims to be financially capable to advertise at traditional platforms and having space in department stores (AEON, Parkson etc). With a bigger brand visibility, Aster + Luna will be competing directly with leading brands, Poney & Anakku.
