During her education journey, she participated with side jobs as a styling assistant for brands such as Louis Vuitton. She'd joined the team for a campaign photo shoot session with Singapore's social media influencers around Kuala Lumpur. As seen on the left is the Louis Vuitton x Fragment photo shoot while on the right is a recreated photoshoot for Yohji Yamamoto as one of her assignment requirements.
LOUIS VUITTON X FRAGMENT
The reason why she'd chosen this photo shoot is to show that she's able to work within brand guidelines, presenting a professional self, working with an established luxury brand. Besides, through this photo shoot, she'd learnt the proper ways of managing and dealing with high end products that requires much more attention and care. Double checking on products is needed after each's location and set was done.
The next photoshoot that the author had contributed on styling was a assignment required photoshoot. The brand that was chosen is Yohji Yamamoto, which is a highly distinctive brand in terms of style, colours and branding.
YOHJI YAMAMOTO ( Project )
The reason why the author have chosen this series of photos is because the author herself have recreated the brand image of Yohji Yamamoto, a highly distinctive luxury brand compared to others. This shows that the author is able to study, adapt and reinterpret the brand's direction and image using clothing that is not from the brand. Sourcing for black, oversized and assymetrical pieces is rather difficult and thankfully, she'd asked for a help from a student in college who she had seen him wearing pieces that resembles the style of Yohji Yamamoto's clothing. Styling for this photoshoot was fun as this is her first time doing a men's photo shoot and she'd learnt the difference in styling men's and women's silhouette due to the fit and cutting of the clothes. The only concern of her throughout the photoshoot is the model is around 168 to 170cm which is considered below the average height of a model and since layering is a big part of Yohji Yamamoto's brand, it is tricky because it might cut short the model's height on camera and she had to try styling the pieces in different ways. The innitial concept of the photos was for a campaign shoot, however some images turns out and drives towards a lookbook shoot which she believes is the posing and angle's issue.
